4th Lalitpur District Taekwondo Poomsae Competition concludes successfully
A total of 225 players from nine dojangs and schools in Lalitpur participated in the competition.
KATHMANDU: The 4th Lalitpur District Taekwondo Poomsae Competition concluded successfully on Saturday at Godawari Panchadeval Picnic Spot, organized by the National Taekwondo Association Nepal, Lalitpur.
The event was held under the chairmanship of Master Bimal Kumar Achhami, President of the National Taekwondo Association Nepal, Lalitpur.
The chief guest for the event was Raj Ghimire, Ward Chairperson of Godawari Municipality Ward No. 3, and a noted social worker and actor.
Other notable guests included Chhiring Lama, Ward Chairperson of Mahalaxmi Municipality Ward No. 1, Robin Silwal, Chair of the Nepal Breaking and Dance Sports Association (Bagmati Province), Gopal Shrestha, Chair of Imadol Unity Club, and Mandira Khapung Adhikari, Treasurer of the Lalitpur District Taekwondo Committee, alongside other social personalities.
A total of 225 players from nine dojangs and schools in Lalitpur participated in the competition.
These included Nawabihani Taekwondo Dojang, Peace Point Taekwondo Academy, Samata Taekwondo Dojang, Dikshant Taekwondo Dojang, AVS Taekwondo Dojang, DAV School, and GEMS School.
Nawabihani Taekwondo Dojang emerged as the best dojang of the competition. Winning athletes received trophies, medals, certificates, and attractive gift hampers as rewards for their achievements.
Central member and senior coach of the National Taekwondo Association Nepal, Gautam Man Maharjan, played a pivotal role as a jury member during the competition.
Additionally, children from Star Art Nepal, Balkumari, Lalitpur, entertained the audience with captivating dance performances.
The event also featured b-boying dance and gymnastics, which garnered significant attention from guests, parents, athletes, and spectators.
Special performances included a mesmerizing dance by Nishchala Rai and a baton display by Tara Tiwari, adding to the vibrancy of the event.
