Jhapa’s Harkaraj Rai recommended as Secretary of HoR

KATHMANDU: The appointment of Harkaraj Rai from Jhapa as the Secretary of the House of Representatives has been recommended.

On Sunday morning, Speaker Devraj Ghimire met with President Ramchandra Paudel and made the recommendation for the Secretary’s appointment, in accordance with Article 106 of the Constitution.

The position had been vacant since the resignation of the previous Secretary, Suresh Adhikari, on Nov 24.

Rai, a resident of Shivashaktaki-2 in Jhapa, holds an M.Phil. in Public Administration, a Master’s degree in Political Science and Rural Development, and a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Journalism.
