Nepal wins gold in Int’l Karate Tournament in India

KATHMANDU: Nepal has won its first gold medal in the International Open Karate Championship currently underway in India.

The medal was secured in the karate performance event in the 10-year age group.

Nepal’s Siddhartha Rana claimed the gold in his category.

Over 100 athletes from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and various regions of India are participating in the tournament, which is organized by the All India Karate Federation.

The competition will feature final matches in various age and weight categories today and tomorrow, with 18 male and female athletes competing.
