Rain & snowfall since early morning in western Nepal

KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Meteorological Forecasting Division, has reported a partial influence of both the westerly wind and a western low-pressure system in the country.

According to the division, the weather in Sudurpaschim, Karnali, and Lumbini provinces is currently partly to generally cloudy, while the remaining regions are experiencing partly cloudy to mainly clear skies.

The Kathmandu Valley is observing partly cloudy conditions.

Afternoon Forecast

The weather across the country is expected to remain generally cloudy today. Moderate rain is likely in many areas of Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces, along with light to moderate rain in some hilly areas of Koshi Province.

Light rain is expected in isolated locations in other provinces. Additionally, light to moderate snowfall is anticipated in certain higher hilly and mountainous regions.

Evening and Night Forecast

During the night, Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces will remain generally cloudy, while the rest of the country will experience partly to generally cloudy skies. Moderate rain is expected in many areas of Sudurpaschim Province and some parts of Karnali and Koshi provinces.

Light rain is likely in isolated places across other provinces. Light to moderate snowfall is predicted in higher hilly and mountainous areas of Sudurpaschim, Karnali, and Koshi provinces, with isolated snowfall in some areas of Gandaki and Bagmati provinces.

Current Weather

Five provinces—Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Lumbini, Gandaki, and Bagmati—are partly to generally cloudy, while other areas are experiencing partly cloudy to clear skies. Light rain is occurring in some parts of Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces.

Similarly, light snowfall has been observed in certain higher hilly and mountainous regions of these provinces.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division urges the public to stay updated on weather conditions, especially in regions with expected rain and snowfall.
