Second Professional Hapkido National Competition kicks off in Nepalgunj
The competition will run for two days, with top athletes from all seven provinces participating.
KATHMANDU: The second Professional Hapkido National Competition has started today in Nepalgunj.
The event was inaugurated by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Tejulal Chaudhary.
During the inauguration ceremony, Minister Chaudhary stated that the development and expansion of Hapkido in Nepal is progressing rapidly. He also emphasized the government’s full commitment to supporting the stability and growth of the sport.
Similarly, Tiranadaj Gautam, Secretary of the Lumbini Province Sports Council, mentioned that Hapkido is advancing actively in Nepal and highlighted the need for special attention to infrastructure development, training, and competitions for its sustainable growth.
He also noted that the Korean martial art of Hapkido is becoming increasingly popular in Nepal.
Kalibhadur Gharti Magar, Chair of the Nepal Hapkido Association, shared that Hapkido has spread across the mountains, hills, and plains of Nepal. He described the sport as a significant foundation for social transformation.
