KATHMANDU: The newly released song “Makhamali” from the upcoming Nepali film Unko Sweater has gained significant popularity on YouTube.

Within two hours, it entered the trending charts in countries like Nepal, Malta, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, and Australia.
The song revives the popular Nepali folk tune “Kaunda/Chutka” and depicts an unspoken love between actors Bipin Karki and Miruna Magar, set against the cultural backdrop of Panchthar and the Nepal-India border. Directed by Naveen Chauhan, the film has garnered strong anticipation based on the song’s success.
The song features vocals by Sujan Chapagai and Sunita Thegim, with lyrics by Harka Saud and music by Sujan Chapagai.
The music video, choreographed by Deep Gurung, also stars actor Wilson Bikram Rai in an interesting role.
Oonko Sweater is Artmandu Pvt. Ltd.’s first feature film, directed by Naveen Chauhan with co-writing by Suraj Katwal.
