KATHMANDU: Former President of Nepal, Bidya Devi Bhandari, has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of former Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
“I am deeply saddened by the news of the demise of Dr. Singh, former Prime Minister of our friendly neighbor India,” Bhandari stated.
She fondly recalled her discussions with Dr. Singh on matters of mutual interest between Nepal and India.
“Renowned economist, architect of India’s economic reforms, and a person of remarkable humility, Dr. Singh’s passing is a great loss for Nepal as well, as we have lost a true friend. I extend heartfelt condolences to his family and offer my deepest respects to the late Dr. Singh,” she added.
Dr. Singh, aged 92, passed away last night.
