Weather alert: Authority urges caution amid weather changes
Spokesperson Dijan Bhattarai highlighted the potential rise in cold temperatures and cold waves, urging the public to take necessary precautions to avoid health risks.
KATHMANDU: The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has advised caution as weather conditions across Nepal are set to change from this afternoon, based on information received from the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
Spokesperson Dijan Bhattarai highlighted the potential rise in cold temperatures and cold waves, urging the public to take necessary precautions to avoid health risks.
He also mentioned the likelihood of snowfall in high-altitude areas, rainfall in some regions, and cold waves in the southern plains.
A special weather bulletin issued by the Meteorological Forecasting Division attributes the changes to a western low-pressure system, which is expected to cause partly to generally cloudy conditions in many parts of the country starting today.
The forecast for Saturday indicates light to moderate snowfall in most high-altitude regions of Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces, as well as in some high-altitude areas of Gandaki, Bagmati, and Koshi provinces.
Stay informed and take measures to stay safe during the adverse weather conditions.
