Liverpool strengthen top spot with comeback win over Leicester

KATHMANDU: Liverpool continued their impressive Premier League run, solidifying their position at the top with a 3-1 victory over Leicester City on Thursday.

Despite conceding an early goal, Liverpool showcased their resilience by turning the match around at Anfield.

Jordan Ayew scored in the sixth minute to give Leicester the lead, but Cody Gakpo equalized for Liverpool in first-half injury time.

Curtis Jones put Liverpool ahead just four minutes into the second half, and Mohamed Salah sealed the win with an 82nd-minute strike.

With 42 points from 17 matches, Liverpool are seven points clear of second-placed Chelsea, who have played one more match and remain on 35 points.

Chelsea’s position weakened further after a 2-1 defeat to Fulham in their latest outing.

Man City Held to Draw, Everton Frustrate Haaland

Manchester City’s struggles continued as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Everton at the Etihad Stadium.

Erling Haaland’s second-half penalty was saved by Jordan Pickford, denying City a crucial win.
