KATHMANDU: In celebration of the upcoming Tamu Lhosar festival, the Nepali film Unko Sweater has released a new song titled Makhamali.

This genre is known for its ability to express various emotions such as love, separation, humor, satire, pain, and the social milieu in a simple yet profound manner.
The song Makhmali portrays the unspoken love between the film’s lead actors, Bipin Karki and Miruna Magar. Although the Kauḍa style is typically associated with the Gandaki region, it has been infused with the cultural essence of Panchthar in eastern Nepal for this film. The movie has been extensively shot in Panchthar and Falelung, a region near the Nepal-India border.
The song features vocals by Sujan Chapagain and Sunita Thegim, with lyrics penned by Hark Saud and music composed by Sujan Chapagain. The music production is helmed by Kovid Bajra, while Deep Gurung has choreographed the vibrant music video. The video also features actor Wilson Bikram Rai in an intriguing role.

Scheduled for release on May 9, 2026 (Baisakh 26, 2082), Unko Sweater stars a stellar ensemble cast, including Bipin Karki, Miruna Magar, Sunil Pokharel, Mao Tse Gurung, Wilson Bikram Rai, Prem Subba, Alex Paras, Pariksha Limbu, Suraj Tamang, Sharda Devi Silwal, and Bhavana Khapangi Magar.
The film is directed by Naveen Chauhan and marks the debut feature production of Artmandu Pvt. Ltd., a company previously known for its successful musical films such as Ghumi Ghumi, Dekhera Timilai – Teen Pate, Phoolthunge Rani, and Chandrama, all directed by Chauhan. While Unko Sweater is his first feature film, the story is also written by Chauhan in collaboration with Suraj Katuwal.
