Earthquake Memorial Multi-Purpose Covered Hall inaugurated
The ceremony was jointly organized by the NOC and the Dallu Awas Local Support Committee.

KATHMANDU: Chair of the Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC), Jeeban Ram Shrestha, inaugurated the Earthquake Memorial Multi-Purpose Covered Hall in the Dallu Awas area of Ward No. 15, Kathmandu, on Thursday.
The ceremony was jointly organized by the NOC and the Dallu Awas Local Support Committee.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) provided financial assistance for the construction of the hall, which incurred a total cost of Rs 45 million.
The foundation for the covered hall was laid in Oct 2022. It is equipped to host indoor sports such as volleyball, badminton, and table tennis.
Speaking at the inauguration, Chair Shrestha emphasized the hall’s importance in fostering local sports development and producing talented athletes.
He remarked, “This is a significant achievement for Nepal’s sports sector. The covered hall will greatly contribute to the advancement of sports in this area. The availability of such facilities is essential for nurturing athletes.”
