Law equal for all, says Deputy PM Singh
He highlighted that the current government is systematically advancing the work initiated by previous administrations.
KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, Prakash Man Singh, emphasized that the law applies equally to everyone.
Speaking at a press conference organized by the Nepal Press Union in Chitwan today, Singh stated that the investigation into the cooperative case is progressing independently as per legal protocols. “The law is equal for all and must function accordingly,” he asserted.
On constitutional amendments, Singh mentioned ongoing consultations with all parliamentary parties. “Amending the constitution requires following proper procedures and gaining two-thirds majority support in Parliament. It cannot be done by one party alone,” he explained.
He highlighted that the current government is systematically advancing the work initiated by previous administrations.
Stressing the coalition’s stability until the next election, Singh said the government operates on an understanding between the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML.
In a separate context, Singh remarked on the economic impact of fairs and festivals, noting they contribute to revitalizing the national economy. “Our belief is that the government should support such private-sector initiatives,” he concluded.
