KATHMANDU: The bodies of a father and son, who were found murdered in Bhaktapur’s Balkot, have been cremated.

The deceased, 56-year-old Kul Prasad Acharya and his 22-year-old son Pravin, were found dead in their rented room in Balkot, Sunakheti, on Monday.

The cremation was carried out by 81-year-old Shadanand Acharya, Kul Prasad’s father.

The murder was committed by Kul Prasad’s eldest son, Milan, who has confessed to the crime.

Milan admitted to the police that he killed his father and brother due to family tensions.

Milan revealed that his failure in the civil service exam and his father’s depression were factors that led him to commit the crime.

He told the police, “I failed the civil service exam multiple times, and my father was also suffering from depression. Family problems drove me to this decision.”
