KATHMANDU: Christians around the world are celebrating Christmas Day today, commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, the founder of Christianity.
According to Christian belief, Jesus was born 2,025 years ago on Dec 25 in Bethlehem, Israel.
Born to the Virgin Mary through the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ is said to have brought three profound blessings to humanity.
Christians observe this day as a celebration of love, peace, and salvation.
It is marked as the “Day of Love” to honor the love Jesus brought to humankind, the “Day of Peace” for his role in establishing peace, and the “Day of Salvation” for the liberation he offered.
People in Nepal and other countries are also joyfully celebrating Christmas in their own unique ways, making it a global festival of unity and happiness.
