Restaurant staff stabs engineering student to death during dispute

KATHMANDU: A dispute at a restaurant in Chyasal, Lalitpur, turned violent, resulting in the death of one person.
The incident occurred on Monday night at Town Hub Restaurant, where a clash broke out after a confrontation.
Engineering student Nayan Gurung, 23, lost his life in the altercation.
Nayan, who was at the restaurant with friends, was allegedly attacked with a knife by restaurant staff Hemraj Bhatta.
SSP Shekhar Kharel of the Lalitpur District Police confirmed that Bhatta, originally from Dadeldhura, launched the attack during a dispute at the restaurant’s counter.
The incident took place around 9:20 PM.
Following the stabbing, Nayan succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Police have arrested Bhatta and are conducting an investigation.
Nayan Gurung, a student at Himalaya College in Lalitpur, was in his fourth semester of a Bachelor of Engineering program.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case.
