Janamat Party protests in Saptari against discrimination & assault (with video)
The protest was held against alleged state-led racial discrimination and the reported assault on supporters of Janakpur Bolts.
KATHMANDU: In Saptari district of Madhesh Province, the Janamat Party, led by CK Raut, staged a protest on Monday by burning tires and blocking roads for an hour.
The protest was held against alleged state-led racial discrimination and the reported assault on supporters of Janakpur Bolts, a cricket team in the Nepal Premier League (NPL).
Youth members of the Janamat Party from Kanchanrup Municipality organized the road blockade by burning tyres, condemning what they described as discriminatory and insulting behavior towards Janakpur Bolts’ supporters.
A video of the protest, showing the burning of tires on the road, was released by CK Raut’s secretariat.
The protestors voiced their outrage over incidents during the NPL where some individuals reportedly directed offensive words and actions against Janakpur Bolts.
The Janamat Party has called for accountability and urged an end to discriminatory practices targeting specific communities and groups.
