RSP Secretariat meeting today
Following the case registration, preparations are underway to suspend Lamichhane from his parliamentary position.
KATHMANDU: The Secretariat meeting of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is scheduled for 4 PM today.
The meeting will discuss key issues, including the court case filed against party president and former Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane in Kaski and the party’s future strategy.
On Sunday, the Kaski District Government Attorney’s Office registered cases against Lamichhane on charges of cooperative fraud, organized crime, and money laundering.
Following the case registration, preparations are underway to suspend Lamichhane from his parliamentary position.
Meanwhile, RSP lawmakers have met with Speaker Devraj Ghimire, urging him not to suspend Lamichhane’s parliamentary role.
Lawmakers Sobita Gautam and Ganesh Parajuli visited the Speaker in this regard.
Earlier, the Kaski District Police Office had sent a letter to the Parliament Secretariat recommending Lamichhane’s suspension.
Speaker Ghimire has already discussed the matter with the Secretary-General and spokesperson of the Parliament Secretariat.
