KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MPs have visited Speaker Devraj Ghimire’s office to request that the suspension of RSP President Rabi Lamichhane’s parliamentary membership be reconsidered.

The MPs, including Sobita Gautam and Ganesh Parajuli, sought the Speaker’s intervention amid ongoing discussions about Lamichhane’s suspension.

The visit comes after a letter from the Kaski District Police Office, addressed to the Parliament Secretariat, recommending Lamichhane’s suspension following the registration of a case against him.

Speaker Ghimire had already held discussions with the Secretary-General and spokesperson of the Parliament Secretariat regarding the matter.

Lamichhane’s suspension became automatic after a case was filed against him on charges of cooperative fraud, organized crime, and money laundering at the Kaski District Court on Sunday.
