KATHMANDU: A total of 3,126 Nepali candidates have successfully passed the third phase of the Employment Permit System (EPS) language test for 2024.
This phase saw participation from 26,000 aspirants aiming to work in South Korea’s production sector.
According to the EPS branch of the Department of Foreign Employment, the results were published following a three-phase language testing process.
South Korea’s Human Resource Department (HRD) expedited the announcement to address the decreasing number of candidates on the potential roster.
Initially, 163,635 Nepalis had applied for the language test, with a target to select 16,400 candidates through three stages.
While the first two phases have concluded, some successful candidates have already reached South Korea for employment.
EPS Information Officer Kamal Raj Shrestha stated that the skill test schedule for those who passed the language test will be released soon.
The first-phase qualifiers are placed on Korea’s employment roster and are selected quarterly for deployment.
South Korea has increased its EPS quota for Nepalis for 2024, raising hopes for even more employment opportunities in 2025.
Officials believe this expansion will benefit more Nepali youth seeking jobs abroad.
The third phase of the language test was conducted on Dec 17, 2024.
