Baitadi youth assaulted by Tarun Dal leaders at Durbar Marg
The assault took place at 3:13 AM when Bhatt was exiting the restroom.
KATHMANDU: A youth was brutally assaulted at Durbar Marg in Kathmandu.
The victim, 36-year-old Ramesh Bhatt, originally from Baitadi and currently residing in Naikap, was attacked early Saturday morning.
The incident occurred at Liquid Lounge Bar, where members of the Nepal Tarun Dal, a youth wing of the Nepali Congress, severely assaulted him.
The assault took place at 3:13 AM when Bhatt was exiting the restroom.
Although hotel staff attempted to intervene, CCTV footage shows the assault continued for an extended period.
Bhatt sustained head injuries and is currently receiving treatment at the National Trauma Center.
Police have arrested eight individuals, including leaders of the Nepal Tarun Dal, in connection with the assault.
According to DSP Raju Kumar Shrestha of the Durbar Marg Police, the suspects were apprehended while sleeping at the hotel.
The arrested individuals are reportedly involved in previous criminal activities, and further investigations are underway.
