Robbers kill man, loot valuables worth lakhs in Mahottari
They beat him to death and stole valuables worth lakhs.
KATHMANDU: A group of robbers killed a man and looted valuables worth lakhs in a robbery at Sada village, Manarashishwa Municipality-4, in Mahottari district this morning.
According to District Police Office spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police Santulal Prasad Jaiswar, the group of seven or eight masked robbers, armed with weapons, entered the home of 70-year-old Sushil Jha at around 4 AM.
They beat him to death and stole valuables worth lakhs.
Sushil, who lived with his wife, was attacked and killed by the robbers. Among the stolen items were a gold mangalsutra, a gold ring, and Rs 80,000 in cash, Jaiswar said.
Sushil’s wife was reported to have sustained minor injuries.
Police are currently investigating other items that were looted, and Sushil’s body remains at the scene.
