Woman killed in wild elephant attack in Morang

KATHMANDU: A woman has died following an attack by a wild elephant in Morang.

The deceased has been identified as 40-year-old Ganga Shrestha of Sundarharaincha Municipality-7.

According to the District Police Office, Morang, she was attacked by the wild elephant while collecting firewood in the Srijana Community Forest, located in Sundarharaincha-7.

Shrestha, who sustained critical injuries from the elephant attack, was rushed to Nobel Hospital in Biratnagar, where doctors declared her dead upon examination.

Police said further investigation into the incident is underway.
