Former RSS acting general manager Rana passes away

KATHMANDU: Jayashamsher Rana, former acting general manager of the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS), passed away at the age of 80 in Bhopal, India.

Rana, who was suffering from respiratory problems, was undergoing treatment at Siddhant Super Specialty Hospital in Bhopal.

His younger brother, Prabhat Shumsher Rana, confirmed his demise earlier this morning.

The final rites are set to be performed later today.

Born on September 27, 1944, in Kathmandu, Rana served as the head of the RSS English Editorial Division and was a former editor of the agency.

After retirement, he settled in Bhopal.

He is survived by two sons.
