Electrical short circuit causes fire, damages exceed Rs 1 million

KATHMANDU: A fire caused by an electrical short circuit destroyed property worth over Rs 1 million in Aurahi Municipality-1, Aurahi Bazaar, authorities reported.

The fire broke out on Wednesday night at the cosmetic shops of Phulodevi Mandal and Khurshid Laheri.

According to the Area Police Office in Gaushala, Mandal’s wooden structure and Laheri’s brick shop were damaged in the blaze.

Earlier in Mangsir, a fire caused by an electrical short circuit at an electronics store in Bardibas-14 resulted in losses exceeding Rs 10 million.
