Santosh Koirala elected unopposed as Chair of NBA

Koirala, who previously served as Vice-Chair, will lead the association for a two-year term.

KATHMANDU: Santosh Koirala, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Machhapuchchhre Bank, has been elected unopposed as the new Chair of the Nepal Bankers’ Association (NBA).

Koirala, who previously served as Vice-Chair, will lead the association for a two-year term.

Following Koirala’s election, Surendra Regmi, the CEO of Global IME Bank, was also elected unopposed to fill the vacant Vice-Chair position.

Regmi assumed his role as Global IME Bank’s CEO just three months ago.

Additionally, three vacant member positions in the association were filled unopposed.

The newly elected members are Sudesh Khaling, CEO of Everest Bank; Tilak Raj Pandey, CEO of Nepal Bank; and Ramchandra Khanal, CEO of Kumari Bank. Notably, Khaling has been re-elected for a second term.

The newly formed NBA executive committee includes:

  • Chair: Santosh Koirala (Machhapuchchhre Bank)
  • Immediate Past Chair: Sunil KC
  • Vice-Chair: Surendra Regmi (Global IME Bank)

The association’s advisors include former Presidents Gyanendra Dhungana (Nabil Bank) and Ashoke Rana (Himalayan Bank).
