KATHMANDU: Nepal’s U-19 women’s cricket team is set to face Sri Lanka today in the Super 4 stage of the ongoing ACC U-19 Women’s Asia Cup in Malaysia.
The match will begin at 11:45 AM Nepali time at the Kinrara Oval Cricket Ground.
Both Nepal and Sri Lanka secured their Super 4 spots by finishing in the top two of their respective groups.
Nepal made headlines by defeating Pakistan in the group stage, while their match against India was washed out due to rain.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka beat Malaysia but suffered a loss to Bangladesh.
Nepal’s progression to the Super 4 marks a historic achievement in their maiden Asia Cup appearance.
In their next Super 4 match, Nepal will face Bangladesh on Friday.
The four Super 4 teams – India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh – are vying for the top two spots to advance to Sunday’s final.
Nepal’s participation in the Asia Cup was confirmed after qualifying for the U-19 Women’s World Cup, set to be held in Malaysia this January.
