Warm clothes distributed to needy in Mugu
Aid provided to 158 students to combat harsh winter conditions.
KATHMANDU: To help alleviate the struggles of severe cold, warm clothes and stationery were distributed to Dalit communities and students in Mugu.
The initiative was made possible by social worker Shavikumar Pant from Kathmandu’s Nagarjun Municipality-10, Syu Chatar, in coordination with journalist Nanda Bahadur Rokaya.
The distribution covered the Dalit community in Karmarong Rural Municipality-9, students of Nepal National Basic School in Chhayal, and Namuna Basic School in Laphu, Chhayanath Rara Municipality-13.
On Tuesday, Pant personally distributed warm clothes to 128 students at Nepal National Basic School, Chhayal.
Additionally, 30 students in Laphu’s Dalit settlement and Namuna Basic School received winter clothing and stationery items.
Pant explained that after learning about the challenges faced by the Dalit community and school children in Mugu due to cold weather, he and his colleagues working abroad came together to provide the much-needed aid.
