Father stabs & kills son in Bhaktapur

KATHMANDU: A man in Bhaktapur has killed his own son by stabbing him with a knife.
The incident occurred at around 10:15 PM last night near the Shahid Smriti Sports Ground in Bhaktapur Municipality-2, as confirmed by DSP Dhundiraj Neupane of the District Police Office, Bhaktapur.
Sixty-three-year-old Deep Bahadur Shahi, originally from Kamalnagar Municipality-6 in Achham and currently residing in Bhaktapur, fatally attacked his 31-year-old son, Narendra Shahi, with a kitchen knife during a domestic dispute.
Narendra, severely injured, was immediately taken to Bhaktapur Hospital for treatment, but despite efforts, he succumbed to his injuries around 11:45 PM.
His body has been sent to Kathmandu Medical College in Duwakot for postmortem.
Deep Bahadur Shahi was arrested following the incident, and legal proceedings are underway, according to DSP Neupane.
