190 kilograms of marijuana seized in Dharan
The APF's Security Base in Dharan intercepted the vehicle during a routine check.
KATHMANDU: The Armed Police Force (APF) seized approximately 190 kilograms of marijuana in Sunsari district’s Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City-13, Shivadhara, along the Koshi Highway.
The drugs were discovered packed in plastic bags hidden in the trunk of a Suzuki car, bearing license plate Ba 10 Cha 6852, traveling from Bhedetar toward Dharan.
The APF’s Security Base in Dharan intercepted the vehicle during a routine check.
The driver fled the scene, abandoning the car.
Two individuals on a motorcycle (Ko 35 Pa 2045), which was following the car, were also detained on suspicion of involvement in drug smuggling.
The confiscated marijuana, along with the car, motorcycle, and suspects, have been handed over to the concerned authorities for further investigation and legal action.
