KATHMANDU: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has instructed law enforcement agencies to immediately curb smuggling activities along the border.

Addressing a provincial security seminar in Rupandehi on Tuesday, the Home Minister issued this directive, emphasizing that smuggling and revenue leakage must be completely halted.

He stated that once officials take charge of their respective areas, there should be no reports of continued smuggling along the border.

Minister Lekhak also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to building a democratic, republican, and inclusive state system.

He highlighted that Nepal’s governance is based on a federal democratic republican system with multiparty competition and a parliamentary structure.
