KATHMANDU: Nepal Telecom has launched its services in Palanta Rural Municipality, Kalikot, following the installation of a new communication tower at Palanta-4.

This initiative aims to bridge the communication gap in an area previously lacking telecommunication services.

Prem Singh Bista, head of the Kalikot Telecommunication Office, stated that the new tower will initially benefit around 10% of Palanta’s population. He also mentioned plans to extend services to wards 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, as well as Pachaljharana Rural Municipality.

Tilak Buda, a local representative, noted that the tower installation marks the final phase of Nepal Telecom’s 4G and 5G service expansion in the region.

He added, “With this tower in operation, 4G and 5G internet and telecommunication services will soon reach the village,” highlighting the significant improvement in communication infrastructure for residents.

Indra Bahadur, chair of the rural municipality, expressed optimism that the new tower would address the longstanding communication challenges faced by the local community.
