KATHMANDU: Chair of the National Assembly, Narayan Prasad Dahal, emphasized the need for constructive criticism in parliamentary practice rather than destructive criticism.
Speaking at the launch event of the book “Concept and Practice of Parliamentary Journalism” in Kathmandu on Monday, Chair Dahal highlighted that many MPs and Secretariat officials tend to offer criticisms that lack constructiveness.
He warned that when actions are motivated by malicious intent, they attract legal consequences.
Dahal also stressed the importance of parliamentary journalists delivering positive messages in their reports.
He pointed out that negative news can lead to a destructive environment, urging all parties to remain vigilant.
He called for active cooperation from all stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness of parliamentary services.
