Goods worth Rs 4.4 Million seized in Parsa

KATHMANDU: The Armed Police Force (APF), Nepal, from the proposed Border Security Gulma in Birgunj, has seized goods worth approximately Rs 4.4 million from various locations in Parsa district.
A security team led by Deputy Superintendent of Armed Police Suraj Rijal confiscated clothes and cosmetic items worth Rs 3,049,700 on Dec 14 from Latgali, Birgunj Metropolitan City-6.
The seizure occurred during a raid on a warehouse where the goods were being stored.
The confiscated items include 1,627 pieces of kurta suruwal, 2,768 pieces of shawls, 1,728 pieces of scarves, ladies’ bags, and various cosmetic products.
Additionally, on December 16, the security team seized goods worth Rs 1,336,935, along with a motorcycle, from Inarwa and other checkpoints in Birgunj Metropolitan City-16.
The confiscated goods included cosmetics, grocery items, motor parts, keypad mobile phones, mobile accessories, and clothes, which were being illegally transported from India to Nepal.
The items were being smuggled via motorcycle (registration number Na 53 Pa 9306) and other passenger vehicles.
The individuals transporting the goods fled upon seeing the patrol team.
The seized items have been handed over to the concerned authorities for further legal action.
