Two dead, 12 injured in Dang road accident

KATHMANDU: Two people died and 12 others were injured in a road accident along the East-West Highway near Lamahi Municipality-9, Chyawkhola Boxcutting, this morning.
The incident involved a Winger vehicle with registration number Lu1J 4298, according to the District Police Office, Dang.
The deceased have been identified as Prithi Tharu, 42, and Phulsi Tharu, 60, both residents of Shivaraj Municipality-3.
The vehicle, traveling from Chandrauta, Kapilvastu, to Bardiya, met with the accident earlier today.
District Police Office spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ishwar Thapa reported that the injured are receiving treatment at Lamahi Hospital.
A total of 14 people were on board the vehicle.
Police suspect that overspeeding may have caused the accident.
