Former Nepal Bank Deputy Manager held after 13 year
He was arrested from Swayambhu, Kathmandu, for his conviction in a corruption case.
KATHMANDU: A team from the District Police Office, Kathmandu, has arrested Shashikiran Shrestha, the former deputy manager of Nepal Bank Limited, 13 years after he was implicated in a corruption case.
According to Police Spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police Nawaraj Adhikari, Shrestha was arrested from Swayambhu, Kathmandu, for his conviction in a corruption case. “Our team arrested him to implement the verdict,” he said.
The case was filed by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), which had charged Shrestha for misusing his position during a loan disbursement process, causing a loss of Rs 39.89 million.
After the case was filed, Shrestha had been on the run for 13 years.
Spokesperson Adhikari confirmed that Shrestha would be presented in court on Monday for the execution of the verdict.
