KATHMANDU: Nepal is set to participate in an invitational hockey tournament in Malaysia.

This festival-style competition will feature players under the age of 16 and will be played in the Hockey 5s format.

Both male and female players will be part of the Nepalese team. The tournament will take place from Dec 17 to 21.

The Nepalese team consists of 13 members. The female players are Anushka Thapa, Bandana Bhatta, Sabina Rajbanshi, and Tulsi Bohara.

The male players include Ronash Kumar Yadav, Sudip Chaudhary, Vivek BK, Sujal Maharjan, Roshan Pariyar, and Sushant Rokaya.

The team is managed by Hit Kumar Gurung and coached by Deepak Khatiwada.

Additionally, Manish Prasad Bhatt will serve as an umpire in the tournament.

Nepal Olympic Committee President Jeevan Ram Shrestha bid farewell to the team during a program held in Satdobato on Saturday.

On the occasion, Anil Prasad Sharma, President of the Nepal Hockey Association, extended his best wishes for the team’s success.
