Dambar Prasad Acharya elected President of FNJ Associate Provincial Committee
In the election held on Friday, Acharya emerged victorious with 266 votes, defeating his closest contender, Smriti Dhungana, who garnered 192 votes.
KATHMANDU: Dambar Prasad Acharya (Royal) has been elected as the President of the Associate Provincial Committee of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ).
In the election held on Friday, Acharya emerged victorious with 266 votes, defeating his closest contender, Smriti Dhungana, who garnered 192 votes.
Dhurva Lamsal, the coordinator of the election committee, confirmed the results.
Other key appointments include Pushpa Thapalia, who was elected as vice-president (inclusive), and Ashesh Adhikari, who will serve as the general secretary.
Several other office-bearers and members were also elected unopposed to various positions.
Moreover, Menuka Kunwar and Pabitra Mudbhari were elected as FNJ Associate Central Members.
The FNJ Provincial Associate Chapter boasts a wide range of member organizations, including the Cartoonists Club, Film Journalists Association Nepal, Film Critics Society, South Asian Journalists, Everest Press Club, Nepal Sports Journalists Forum, Nepal Journalists Forum, Online Journalists Association, Tourism Journalists Forum, Journalism Development Society, Photo Journalists Club, and the Journalism Research and Training Society.
