Wilson Bikram Rai joins cast of Nepali film Soltini, strengthening star power

KATHMANDU: Nepali film Soltini, currently under production, has signed actor Wilson Vikram Rai, popularly known for his role as Takme Buda.

Details about Rai’s role in the film have not been revealed yet. Earlier, it was announced that Prakash Saput and Pariksha Limbu will play the lead roles, with Saput portraying Bhimsen Pokhrel and Limbu playing Dilasa Rai.
Saltini will be set in a village in Bhojpur. According to director Arjun Subedi, the film will highlight social inhumanity and caste discrimination, raising a voice against such issues. It will also explore the incomplete love story of the two main characters.
The film will feature experienced actors like Prem Subba, Kavita Ale, Sundar Dhital, and Sabbu Gurung.
Music will be provided by Prashant Shiwakoti and Hercules Basnet, while the cinematography will be handled by Sushan Prajapati.
Produced by Regina Bist and Sansar Chaulagain under the presentation of Planet Three Films, in collaboration with Nepcine and YOLO Entertainment, Saltini’s publicity design will be managed by Trident Concept.
The distribution will be handled by RR Films Pvt. Ltd. in Nepal and Nepcine internationally, while AR Digital has acquired the digital rights.
The film is set to be released on the 19 Sept, 2025, coinciding with the Constitution Day. Filming will begin on Dec 30.
