KATHMANDU: Chairof the CPN (Maoist Centre) and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has emphasized that industrialists and entrepreneurs should work towards achieving a self-reliant national economy.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the third general assembly of the Nepal Industry and Commerce Federation in Bharatpur, Chitwan, today, he stated that strengthening the middle class is essential to fortify the country’s economy.
He remarked, “Our economy is becoming increasingly dependent day by day. Not long ago, we were not only self-sufficient in food but also an exporting nation. Now, we have turned into a country that imports food and many other essentials. In such circumstances, collective effort is necessary to build a strong, self-reliant economy.”
The former Prime Minister claimed that during his 18-month leadership, his primary focus and efforts have been on good governance, social justice, and economic prosperity.
Prachanda further stressed the need to encourage the private sector to safeguard and promote a self-reliant national economy.
