Six-story building collapse in Cairo kills 8, injures 3

KATHMANDU: Eight people have died and three others have been injured after a six-story residential building collapsed in Cairo on Tuesday, according to Egypt’s Ministry of Health.

The incident occurred in the Abbasiya area of the Al-Wayli district in the Egyptian capital.

Cairo Governor Ibrahim Saber Khalil has ordered the evacuation of nearby buildings as a precautionary measure. An engineering committee has been formed to determine the cause of the collapse.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Social Solidarity is preparing a list to provide immediate financial assistance to the victims.
