KATHMANDU: All-rounder William Bosisto’s brilliant six-wicket haul helped Karnali Yaks restrict Pokhara Avengers to a modest total in the second match of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) on Tuesday.

After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Pokhara Avengers were bowled out for 103 runs in 16.3 overs.

Dinesh Kharel was the top scorer for Pokhara, contributing 26 runs off 19 balls.

Kharel was given a reprieve in the third ball of the second over when Yunish Bikram Singh Thakuri dropped his catch off young bowler Bipin Sharma. At that point, Kharel had scored 9 runs off 6 balls.

However, he eventually fell to Yunish in the third ball of the sixth over.

Andres Gaus, who scored a century in the previous match against Lumbini Lions, managed 25 runs off 12 balls in this game, hitting 4 fours and 1 six.

His quick innings came to an end when he was caught by Bosisto off Bipin Sharma’s bowling.

William Bosisto then turned the game around in the 14th over. He dismissed Dilip Nath with the first ball of the over, bowled Michael Leask with the second, and trapped Narayan Joshi LBW on the final ball to complete his five-wicket haul. Bosisto became the first player to take six wickets in a single NPL innings.

Previously, Naren Saud, Sohail Tanvir, and Harsh Thaker had achieved five-wicket hauls.

Kushal Bhurtel’s poor form continued, as he managed just 10 runs off 10 balls before being dismissed.

Bhurtel has scored only 16 runs in four matches. Despite being in a strong position at 74/2, Pokhara lost their remaining 8 wickets for just 29 more runs.

For Karnali Yaks, William Bosisto delivered a stellar performance, taking 6 wickets for 28 runs in 4 overs. Sompal Kami, Yunish Bikram Singh Thakuri, and Bipin Sharma claimed one wicket each.

In the first match of the day, Lumbini Lions defeated Chitwan Rhinos.
