Update: Identities of 8 killed in Rautahat Scorpio crash revealed
The driver of the vehicle also died in the crash.

KATHMANDU: The identities of the victims in the Scorpio accident on the East-West Highway in Chandrapur Municipality, Rautahat, have been revealed.
The incident occurred on Tuesday morning, and the identities of the eight people who died in the accident have now been disclosed.
The Scorpio, with registration number BA 16 Cha 3162, which was carrying passengers returning from the Gadhimai Temple in Bara to Siraha, lost control near the Dhanasar bridge area of the East-West Highway in Chandrapur-4.
The vehicle crashed into a tree on the right side of the road, resulting in the fatal accident.
The driver of the vehicle also died in the crash.
The deceased have been identified as 60-year-old Laruwati Devi Mahara, 30-year-old Urmila Mahara, 50-year-old Ramkumari Mahara, 55-year-old Mahgini Devi Mahara, 62-year-old Phulmanthi Devi Chamar, 60-year-old Ramkumari Devi Mahara, 30-year-old Sakuntala Devi Mahara, and 40-year-old driver Shrikumar Yadav, all from the Arnama Rural Municipality-3, Banthiyatol in Siraha.
Additionally, three individuals sustained injuries in the accident.
They are 30-year-old Radha Ram, 2-year-old Aryan Ram (son of Umesh Ram from the same area), 25-year-old Devkumari Mahara, her 7-year-old son Rithik Mahara, and 60-year-old Kanyadevi Mahara.
They are currently undergoing treatment.
The bodies of the deceased have been kept at the morgue of the government hospital in Chandrapur.
