Nepal drawn in Group ‘F’ for AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers
Nepal will face Vietnam, Malaysia, and Laos in the group stage.
KATHMANDU: Nepal has been placed in Group ‘F’ for the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers following the draw held at AFC House, Kuala Lumpur, on Sunday.
Nepal will face Vietnam, Malaysia, and Laos in the group stage.
Each team in the group will play home-and-away fixtures, resulting in a total of six matches for Nepal.
Nepal’s first game is scheduled for March 25, 2025, against Malaysia, with the return leg on Nov 18, 2025.
Nepal will face Laos on June 10, 2025, and again on March 31, 2026.
The fixtures against Vietnam are set for Oct 9 and Oct 14, 2025.
A total of 24 nations will compete in the qualifiers, divided into six groups.
Group winners will advance to the AFC Asian Cup, set to take place in Saudi Arabia in 2027.
Currently, the Nepalese national team is without a head coach.
In their most recent friendly match, the team played under interim coach Naveen Neupane.
For official international tournaments, the head coach is required to have a Pro License.
