Bus bound for Dhangadhi crashes in Banke, two injured

KATHMANDU: A bus traveling from Kathmandu to Dhangadhi met with an accident on the East-West Highway in Banke district.
The bus, with registration number Sudurpashchim Province 01-001 Kha 3644, collided with a roadside tree in Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality-8, Maguwa.
According to the police, the accident occurred while trying to avoid an oncoming truck, causing the bus, carrying 24 passengers, to hit the tree.
Two people sustained minor injuries and are receiving treatment at a medical college in Kohalpur.
The District Police Office, Banke, reported that the bus driver, 36-year-old Ram Bahadur Dangi of Godawari Municipality-1 in Kailali, has been taken into custody following the incident.
