Two held for murder of 83-year-old woman in Jhapa
She had been attacked with the handle of a sickle and a spade, resulting in fatal injuries to her head and chin.

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested two individuals in connection with the murder of 83-year-old Phulmaya Murmu, a resident of Puspanjali Tole, Ward 6 of Jhapa Municipality.
The suspects have been identified as Ajay Yadav, a resident of Ward 7 of the same municipality, and Ashok Yadav, a resident of Shivasatakshi Municipality-7 in Jhapa.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Krishna Kumar Chand from the Jhapa District Police Office, Murmu was found dead around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
She had been attacked with the handle of a sickle and a spade, resulting in fatal injuries to her head and chin.
At the time, the identity of the assailants was unknown.
However, a canine unit from the Province Police Office in Dharan assisted in the investigation, leading to the arrest of the two suspects from Madhargachh, Ward 7 of Jhapa Municipality.
The police recovered a stolen Colors mobile phone and a bicycle from the suspects during the investigation.
Authorities have initiated further investigation and legal proceedings against them.
