KATHMANDU: The federal capital Kathmandu’s Maitighar witnessed a spirited celebration of International Anti-Corruption Day on Monday morning.
On this occasion, Transparency International Nepal organized an awareness program in collaboration with the Nepal Police and Traffic Police.
Participating police officers carried placards with various messages.
The placards bore slogans such as, “Let’s Unite to Break the Web of Corruption, Join Hands to Promote Good Governance,” “Ending Corruption: Our Path to Good Governance,” and “Against Corruption: Together and Always.”
Observed annually on Dec 9, this day aims to inspire unity in the fight against corruption and ensure good governance.
According to Transparency International’s 2023 Corruption Perceptions Index, Nepal ranks 108th with a score of 35.
This data highlights the need for stronger measures against corruption.
This year’s observance is expected to motivate all sectors of society to prioritize good governance and work towards a corruption-free community.
