Snowfall in Far-Western hills disrupts daily life

KATHMANDU: Heavy snowfall has occurred in the hilly districts of Sudurpashchim Province, including Baitadi, along with rainfall.

Baitadi’s police chief, Inspector Janakaraj Dungana, confirmed the snowfall in the district’s higher altitudes, as well as in the hilly areas of Doti and Dadeldhura.
The combined effect of snow and rain has led to a significant drop in temperature, which is affecting daily life.
People who rely on daily labor, children, and the elderly are particularly impacted by the cold.
However, farmers are rejoicing following the snowfall and rainfall, as it will help their crops thrive.
The precipitation comes as a relief after drought conditions had started to threaten winter crops.
