Heavy snowfall & rain begin in Bajura

KATHMANDU: Since last night, rainfall accompanied by snowfall has started in Bajura.

With the change in weather, snowfall began in the hilly areas. The onset of snow has caused a drop in temperature across the district.

Local resident Jay Prasad Pandey from Ward No. 6 of Jagannath Municipality reported that snowfall began in the areas of Bichhya, Rugin, Bandhu, and Swamikartik’s Jukot in Himalaya Rural Municipality.

In addition, snowfall has covered the higher regions of areas like Dahkot, Manakot, Budhinanda’s Kuru, Pandusain, Khaptad Chheddedah’s Kanda, Jayabageshwari, Badimalika Rajali, Martadi, and Dhankne.

The religious and tourist sites, including Badimalika, Porkhe Lek, Kalajagra, Dah Danda, Badalekh, and Khaptad National Park, are also blanketed in snow.

Snow has also been reported near the district headquarters Martadi, as per local resident Kamal Rawal of Badimalika-3.

Farmers are happy with the rain and snow.

With the wheat crops beginning to dry due to the lack of water, the recent rainfall has brought relief, according to the Agricultural Knowledge Center of Bajura.
