Shikhar Dhawan to skip remaining NPL matches

KATHMANDU: Indian cricket star Shikhar Dhawan will not play the remaining matches of the Nepal Premier League (NPL).

Dhawan, who is part of Karnali Yaks in the NPL, has decided to not participate in the remaining games as per his contract.

He had agreed to play at least four matches, and he completed his fourth match on Saturday against Biratnagar Kings.

With that, he will not play in the remaining matches.

In the NPL, Dhawan scored a total of 136 runs.

He made 5 runs against Biratnagar, an unbeaten 74 runs against Kathmandu Gurkhas, 45 runs against Chitwan Rhinos, and 14 runs against Janakpur Royals.

Dhawan has expressed his desire to play in the NPL again next year.

He mentioned that he would return if his knee permits him to do so.

He also praised the performance of Nepali players in the NPL.
