KATHMANDU: The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has officially announced that Mr. Shammi Silva, President of Sri Lanka Cricket, has assumed the role of ACC President.

Mr. Silva, who previously served as Chair of the ACC Finance & Marketing Committee, brings a wealth of experience to the position. Expressing his gratitude, Mr. Silva stated, “It is a great honour to lead the Asian Cricket Council. Cricket is the heartbeat of Asia, and I am eager to collaborate with all member nations to elevate the game, create opportunities for emerging talent, and strengthen the unity within our cricketing community.”

Mr. Silva takes over the presidency at a crucial time for Asian cricket, with a focus on grassroots development and supporting emerging cricketing nations to succeed on the global stage.

The ACC congratulated Mr. Silva on his appointment and looks forward to advancing the council’s objectives under his leadership.
